Job Summary

Savannah State University seeks applications for Math Instructor (Learning Support). This ten-month non-tenure track faculty position teaches developmental and introductory math to a diverse population of learners; utilizes engaging pedagogy and technology to support student learning in and out of the classroom. Participates in course and program assessment; engages in professional development to remain current in pedagogy, USG learning support policies, and other relevant trends in the field. Demonstrates active and collegial departmental participation; performs other duties as assigned to enhance student learning and program/departmental effectiveness. Employee may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Mathematics or Math Education and a minimum of 18 graduate credit hours in mathematics required; three years math teaching experience at the secondary or college level required. Previous experience teaching developmental mathematics preferred. Familiarity with strategies for addressing varied learning styles and developmental needs; current experience utilizing technology in teaching and learning; and supportive encouraging teaching style preferred. Background and/or credit check may be required.
