Job Summary

Savannah State seeks applications for The Director and Title IX Coordinator. This position serves as the Director of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, Equity, and Title IX Program Administration. The position administers the University’s Diversity Initiatives; the Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO)/Affirmative Action (AA) function of the university; and assumes responsibility for the institution’s Title IX compliance efforts as the Title IX Coordinator. The Director and Title IX Coordinator will be responsible for overseeing the University’s response to reports and complaints that involve possible sexual harassment and discrimination; monitors outcome; identifies and addresses any patterns; monitors compliance with University policies related to EEO/AA; implementing grievance procedures, including notification, investigation and disposition of complaints; providing educational materials and training for the campus community; coordinating investigations of complaints received pursuant to EEO/AA; ensuring a fair and neutral process for all parties; and monitoring all other aspects of the University’s EEO/AA policies and procedures. Employee may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree from an accredited institution required. J.D, or Master’s degree in social work, criminal justice, psychology, higher education administration or other relevant discipline is strongly preferred. Minimum of five or more years of relevant professional work experience, specifically with legal, regulatory and/or policy compliance. Previous experience with and training in conducting investigatory processes and responding to complaints. Demonstrated effectiveness working with a diverse population of students, faculty and staff is preferred. Knowledge of EEO/AA, Title IX, ADA, VAWA, SaVE Act, Clery Act and FERPA. Experience with and understanding of best practices in higher education related to EEO/AA, to include Title IX and Title VI. Experience designing and providing training to employee, student, and management groups. Computer competency and experience with Microsoft Office Suite required. Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills, excellent oral and written communication skills.
