Job Summary

The Department of Social and Behavioral Sciences invites applicants for a position in Criminal Justice effective Fall 2017, rank is open; the candidate will teach general criminal justice courses including, Research Methods, Senior Seminar, Criminal Justice Theory, and Juvenile Justice and will be expected to engage in research, program development, academic advising and service. The normal teaching load is 12 hours per semester with advising and community service responsibilities. Employees may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Ph.D. in Criminal Justice or related field from a regional accredited institution i.e. SACS is required. Applicants with the Ph.D in a related field social science discipline: Political Science, Sociology, Forensic Science, etc. must have the Masters in Criminal Justice. The JD alone will not meet the minimum qualifications for this position. Experience teaching at the college level is a plus; new degreed Ph.Ds are encouraged to apply. Background and/or credit check(s) may be required.
