Job Summary

The College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences at Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for Instructor (Field Liaison). This position collaborates with Title IV-E Grant PI to fulfill the mission and goal of the grant, teaching Title IV-E related courses; serves as Faculty Field Liaison in the Department of Field Education. Teaches day, evening, weekend and online courses across the curriculum in BSW and MSW programs; provides grant related services for the Title IV-E program and the Department of Social Work. Engages in scholarship and service to the University, department and community; collaborates and coordinates with community agencies to implement and maintain placements and field instruction. Participates in recruitment, advising and retention of social work students on campus and in the community; participates in analysis and implementation of policy and procedure relating to the Title IV-E program. May be directed to perform job related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate qualifications and experience.

Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited college/university; two years post-MSW practice experience. Two years of teaching experience at the college/university level. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with faculty, staff and administrators. Two years post MSW work experience with a public or private child welfare agency. Background and/or credit check may be required.
