Job Summary

Savannah State University seeks qualified applicants for Senior Secretary. This position provides clerical assistance and supports those visiting the office of Student Life and the Office of Student Affairs; assists all members of student Life staff (Greek Life, Student Union, Student Conduct, and Student Organizations). Performs clerical duties of limited complexity with the ability to multi task under pressure as assigned by both the Vice President of Student Affairs and the Director of Student Life. Tracks student organization information and processes various forms of communication; maintains inventory of supplies and equipment. Creates and designs flyers and announcements; creates and develops spreadsheets for active and inactive student organizations. Schedules workshop presentations for staff with various programs and organizations; assists with New Student Orientation and Welcome Week. Employee may be directed to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically delineated in this description. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.

Requires two years of college or vocational/technical school; bachelor’s degree preferred. Background and/or credit check may be required.
